Verus Finance Limited is committed to protecting your privacy and maintaining security of the information you provide to us. We abide by the laws relating to privacy and safeguarding of information.

PRIVACY ACT 1993

We may collect (including by way of recorded telephone conversations), retain and use personal information about you for the purposes of assessing your creditworthiness and administering any loans we may arrange for you. The information may be sought from and given to any person for these purposes and you specifically authorise the following:

  • a) We will credit check you using Veda Advantage's ("Veda") credit reporting service.
  • b) Veda will give us personal information about you for that purpose.
  • c) Information we give to Veda will be held in their system and used to provide their credit reporting service.
  • d) Veda may give the information to other users of their credit reporting system.
  • e) We may use Veda's services in the future for the above purposes. This may include Veda's monitoring services to receive updates if any information held about you changes.
  • f) If you default in your payment obligations we may give information about that default to Veda who may, in turn, give information about your default to other users of their credit reporting services.
  • g) The personal information will be collected and held by us at 130 Commerce Street, Whakatane and by Veda Advantage (NZ) Ltd, Private Bag 912012, Auckland Mail Centre 1142, Auckland. You have the right to have access to it and correct it if it is wrong.

COMPLAINTS

If you are not satisfied with the service you have received from us you should contact us. We have an internal complaints process and undertake to investigate your concerns promptly and fairly. You may contact us to make a complaint by telephone, by email or in writing.

We are a member of a financial dispute resolution scheme operated by Dispute Resolution Services Ltd and approved by the Ministry of Consumer Affairs. We have 40 days to respond to your complaint. If you are not satisfied by our response, you may refer the matter to FSCL by emailing enquires@fdr.org.nz or calling FSCL on 0508 337 337. Full details of how to access the FDR scheme can be obtained on their website www.fdr.org.nz. There is no cost to you to use the services of FSCL.
